An inspiring true story of love and devotion, Footnote traces the remarkable legacy of a photograph, a dying man’s final wish, and a promise.
David Serko dies at 32 from the complications of AIDS at the height of the epidemic in 1992. A chance discovery of a photograph online of David being arrested in New York City leads brother Peter on a remarkable journey of discovery as he seeks to learn more about David’s life. At age 59, with no theatrical experience whatsoever, Peter writes and performs a play based on what he learned, then with no filmmaking experience creates a documentary film about it.
